Explore the West
Aguadilla sits on Puerto Rico's northwest corner, with a walkable downtown waterfront, snorkel and surf beaches along the Borinquen coast, and a growing food scene along PR-110 and PR-107.
Beach
One of the best-known beaches on the west coast, named for the old Air Force rescue-boat pier. Clear water draws snorkelers and divers, and locals jump from the pier when it is safe.
Tip: Part of the pier broke off during Hurricane Erin in August 2025, so check its current status before jumping. Parking is paid, and winter brings stronger currents.
Beach
A calm cove sheltered by a breakwater in downtown Aguadilla, next to the waterfront promenade with the 'I Love Aguadilla' sign. Free parking, bathrooms and food kiosks are at nearby Plaza de la Juventud.
Tip: Closest beach to the property. It gets busy with boats on weekends and holidays.
Beach
A small, rocky-edged beach popular for snorkeling, where sea turtles are often seen when the water is calm in summer. In winter the swell makes it a surf spot.
Tip: Arrive early; parking and space are limited.
Beach
A wild, undeveloped stretch of coast reached on foot from Surfer's Beach in the former Ramey base area. The coastal trail is about 0.6 miles each way.
Tip: Bring plenty of water and avoid swimming in rough surf; there are no facilities.
History
Brick remains of the Spanish-era lighthouse destroyed by the 1918 earthquake and tsunami, near the Punta Borinquen golf course. Visitors can walk among the old walls for free.
Tip: Combine with the nearby coastal trails and street art.
Attraction
A seaside family park whose highlight is a treehouse built in 1987 around large trees. Food trucks and Playa Colón are next to it.
Tip: Check sea conditions before swimming at Playa Colón.
History
El Parterre is a small park built around a natural spring, a short walk from Plaza Rafael Hernández and the Iglesia San Carlos Borromeo, a church dating to 1783 and listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Murals and historic houses fill the surrounding streets.
Tip: The patron saint festivities take place in the plaza in November.
Attraction
A natural history museum that opened in downtown Aguadilla in December 2025, steps from the main plaza. Exhibits cover the island's geology and native plants.
Tip: Hours were reported as Wednesday to Sunday; confirm on the museum's Instagram before going.
Nature
A shaded community forest on the former Ramey base with a mostly flat loop trail of about 0.8 miles. It is a quiet spot for a walk or birdwatching.
Tip: Go in daylight; the source advises leaving before sundown.
Attraction
A municipal water park with pools, a lazy river and slides, operated since March 2026 by a private company under a public-private partnership. It is a seasonal park.
Tip: Closed for fall and winter; a 2026 report says it is expected to reopen in March 2027. Check the park's website or Facebook for dates and tickets.

A long-running Puerto Rican restaurant known for seafood and mofongo, with a large following among locals and visitors. The menu also includes steaks and cocktails.
Tip: Expect waits at peak dinner hours.
